8 am

 Judges report for training

 Registration opens, exhibit set up

9 am Judging starts - all categories
noon - 1 pm

Exhibit hall open to the public

Judge lunch in the Salon Ortega

1 pm - 2:30 pm Judging continues
3 pm Awards ceremony - top three winners from each contest qualifies to compete at the NHD National Contest in College Park, MD on June 11-14, 2018.

  • Papers due by midnight
  • Weebly editing goes on lockdown at midnight - be sure to publish your changes!!
  • Registration closes

Be sure everyone in your group is registered by the deadline. Your school must be listed and your teacher must be registered to complete your registration. If your school is not in the list, contact State Coordinator Ellen Dornan

Exhibit setup between 8 am - 9 am in the ballroom

Public viewing of exhibits between noon- 1 pm

Performances and documentaries are open to the public. 


 

Welcome to the National History Day New Mexico State Contest

Judge training starts at 8 am on April 27, 2018. Judging starts at 9. Paper and website judges are expected to complete training in advance of the contest, but are encouraged to arrive before 9 in order to pick up clipboards and grab a quick breakfast.

We will be gathering in the Salon Ortega, in the History and Literary Arts building of the National Hispanic Cultural Center. We'll serve a light breakfast and lunch from Pop Fizz. Please notify coordinator Ellen Dornan if you have special dietary needs.

Judges coming from out of town are eligible to be reimbursed for milage. Check with the coordinator for mileage reimbursement forms.

If you are judging websites or papers, you will receive the projects to judge in advance of the contest. Please complete your training online here. All judges are encouraged to review materials in advance of the contest.
